Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS)
DISC GmbH complies with the European Union Directive 2002/95/EC on the restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment. By providing high quality optical library hardware to customers’ world wide DISC GmbH has attained an outstanding reputation as a responsible partner. We at DISC as corporate citizen are conscious of our social responsibilities, feel committed to them and believe that we are aware of the consequences of our actions. We therefore welcome the RoHS directive and WEEE guideline which restrict the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment. We fully support the stated environmental protection goals. To comply with the Q3 2006 implementation date we commenced with the conversion of our manufacturing process in co-operation with our subsuppliers starting 2005. In particular this required the introduction of the lead free soldering process stipulated by RoHS. The conversion of our optical library hardware to conform to the RoHS directive has been completed in due time at the end of Q2 2006. Whilst no known circumstances are apparent at time of writing please note that should the need arise DISC GmbH will invoke permitted exemption provisions provided for under the RoHS directive Article 4 Clause 1.
